Iberian Dragon Pitahayas


We were born as a small family business of farmers specialized in the production of the tropical fruit Pitahaya, also known as Dragon Fruit. Since 2019 we have been working on our cultivation, increasing production each year and the different varieties that exist of this fruit that is beginning, with great success, to be known in our country.

In Spain, dragon fruit began to be distributed a few years ago, but the vast majority is still imported from Asian or Latin American countries, since it is a tropical fruit, whose plant needs certain climatic requirements. Fortunately, the Mediterranean climate is suitable and very productive for the production of Pitahaya, which is why it is increasingly produced in warm areas such as Murcia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands.

Currently, the dragon fruit is considered "the trendy fruit" or "the Instagram fruit", since both its exotic appearance and the attractiveness of its colors make any dish very striking and novel. 

But the most important thing is that the benefits of dragon fruit are many for our body since its properties are a treasure from a nutritional point of view, including mucilage antioxidants, ascorbic acid and phenols; In addition, it is a fruit very rich in Vitamin C, also containing group B vitamins, minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron, and high content of water, vegetable protein and soluble fiber. The seeds, also edible, contain fatty acids that are very beneficial for our health, but without a doubt, one of their most notable properties is their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action, so it is logical to think that the WHO has recommended their consumption in recent years.
